What to do when your friend has gone full r-tard on arcade tattoos

Pretty damn true, but it is heading in the PnR direction I suppose…

Really the whole thing screams out "I'm never going to leave New Jersey!"

Actually, I know priests, shrinks, child advocates, and one lawyer (he wears thin gloves for court) with tats like that and they're paid very well for what they do.

Sort of related, the wife of a pastor I used to work for had a lower back tattoo. He had no idea that they were referred to colloquially as "tramp stamps"... sharing that info with him was a real highlight of my life (he was kind of a ---meecrob---).  ;D

But I agree, while there are still lots of jobs that might look down upon tattoos, there are plenty that a tattoo would have a neutral or positive effect. Just depends on what people are going for. My parents probably saw tats as suspicious... I find them disarming, as so many of my friends have had them. That doesn't mean there are a lot of poorly chosen tattoos, though (Atari 2600 space invader? 5200 version was so much better).

I like art in all it's forms. Of course I like some art more than others... getting tattoos of arcade game characters is not high on my list of *good art but maybe it is to him. Who am I to judge? And as far as I am concerned it SHOULDN'T be holding him back from any job he is capable of doing, but then again I am pretty much open to people doing what they want as long as it doesn't hurt others.

*I like arcade art, but it doesn't make good permanent body art IMO.

I would encourage him to get more tattoos.  They look very impressive.

Being negative or prude doesn't help anyone in this case.  When I see people with tattoos I think they are pretty brave wearing them in public.

I would be supportive of your friend's decision, being the prime benefit of having a friend that shares the same hobby is wonderful.

Personally I find tattoos to be a violation of your body's temple, but we are all different.

Besides he hasn't gone full r-tard.  This might be a contender for full r-tard:
