Hyperspin - Are the Specs of this Machine Sufficient to Run It???

Mame818:
Hi Everyone --

Just curious is the specs of the below Desktop are sufficient to run Hyperspin with all of the video clips/art.

I don't need the fastest machine on the block.  Just an inexpensive one that will do the work needed.

Thanks for your feedback!!!

HP Compaq DC7700 CMT tower
dual core 3.4 GHz Intel Pentium D CPU
Windows XP Pro SP3
4 GB memory
160 GB hard drive

My jukebox runs an AMD Athlon II X2 Processor 220 (2.8 GHz, 1 MB L2 cache) with 4GB and a fairly cheap end ATI card with HDMI out, runs Hyperspin with all the bells and whistles on.

You'll be good as the equivalent athlon to that is the 250 :)

Decent enough what other emulators will you run or just MAME. if just MAME then your fine except of few of the newer games. I would suggest to upgrade to windows 7 64 bit, it easier to find somewhere on the web. The more emulators you add to Hyperspin the more it bogs down . Im running intel core 5 2500k stock with 50 emulators and it runs amazing only spend little over $400 totaly worth all the money

I've been running some tests for a new build with multiple console emulators, Mame and HyperSpin.
I've been using my laptop with a duo core, xp pro and 4GB Ram and its been running fine.

I've been wondering this for a long time as well.  I've got an Athlon 64 X2 5000+ 2.6GHz system with 4 GB of RAM.  Probably would need a slightly better video card, but I've been looking at what Tipton has set up and like all of the features that he shows in his YouTube video with all of the transitional videos, etc.

I've been afraid to dive too far into it, taking my current machine out of commission, to mess around with it if it wasn't going to work.

One other thing, I was told that I should stay away from upgrading to Windows 7 as Windows XP was "good enough" and that there weren't any real benefits of Windows 7.

So many opinions that it takes a while to figure out reality.
