Wiring Suzo-Happ Metal Coin Mech

(1/2) > >>

Seith:
Okay, I must be missing something... I bought a Suzo-Happ Metal Coin Mech:

and I have no clue how to wire this thing so that it  sends a signal when the proper coin is inserted.  I assume there's somewhere I should be attaching a microswitch?

When a coin falls through it, there are two little metal rods that are coiled up that are on a pivot and "kick" up when the coin passes through their area on the mech, but it hardly seems like it would be enough to press a microswitch (and actually, I tried holding a microswitch up to one of the two coiled bits when a coin fell through the mech and all that happened was the coin got stuck trying to pass through the arm, because the coiled bit pressed up against the microswitch but couldn't press it down enough to allow for the coin to go through   :badmood: )

is there something i'm missing?  are my microswitches too "stiff", or is there another way to wire this badboy?  Also, I don't see a place to really "mount" the microswitch against the coinmech, either... some help with that would be much appreciated, as there doesn't seem to be any diagrams online for these.

Nephasth:
There is supposed to be a microswitch with a wire actuator that sits under where the coin mech mounts to the coin door. As the coin falls out of the mech, it actuates the microswitch lever that sends the signal. No switches mount to coin mechs. All the mechs do is either allow the appropriate coins to pass through and into the bucket, or recject improper coins to the coin return chute.

You can see the switches below the mechs in this pic:

Ah, thanks Nephasth!

I will be heading over to my father's today to do some work, so when i'm there, i'll be sure to check and make sure I didn't miss anything.

+1.  You're gonna need a switch that's different from a standard button switch.

mcseforsale:  that's exactly what i'm missing.  I took a look here:

This is the door I purchased and installed.  According to what's documented, looks like i'll need a mounting plate for the coin switch, as well as the switch listed.  Looks like I have another order to make.

Thanks, guys!
