Paradise Arcade's IL RGB 5VDC LED to pc power supply?
(1/1)
F-14 Tomcat:
??? Hello, just wanted to know what the proper connection method is for hooking up Paradise Arcade's IL button 5V RGB LEDs to my pc power supply.
I'll be using one of the spare molex connectors (I know red is the +5v). There is a "G" on the led board in on corner, ground I'm assuming?
So, is it the LED white wire (G) to my power supply ground, and the LED other colors going to the +5v (Red) power supply?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Here is the product info

The white wire is your + lead. The other colored wires ground those colors respectively, if you ground all three you will have a white light. I'm a little confused why you're wiring RGB LEDs directly to a power supply (unless if you just want each LED to be only one color), but normally you would want to wire them to an LED controller like a PACLED64 (Ultimarc) or an LED-Wiz (GGG) so the colors can be controlled.

I'm just trying to have the lights on all the time (for now anyway). Also, the colored wires will be twisted together to produce white light only as my IL buttons are various colors. Down the road I may buy a led controller.
Thanks for the info, exactly what I needed to know. Next question would be, can I daisy chain the grounds button to button and all the =5v wires button to button, or do they all have to go to a power or ground source independently?
Thanks for the advice
Nephasth:
For what you're doing, daisy chaining will be fine.
