Mamewah background music won't start
« on: July 15, 2012, 10:11:09 pm »
I've dropped a few game-soundtracks into a "music" folder under the mamewah directory, and after editing my emulator's config file, the music starts right away when I launch mamewah from windows.

However, whenever I boot directly into mamewah (instead of explorer.exe), the background music refuses to play. If I quit to windows and reopen mamewah in this scenario, the music starts playing!
Is there some audio driver that needs explorer.exe to load? Has anyone else run into the situation??..  :dizzy: Any help would be greatly appreciated!

P.S. on an unrelated note, I can't get my joystick to register when playing asteroids... The fire/thrust buttons work fine, but I can't move! Does this have something to do with the fact that asteroids is a vector-based game?

ah I figured it out! For some reason mamewah needs a FULL path to the music folder when booting directly... weird. Maybe it needs explorer.exe to "index" the local directories or something.. :dunno
