How much do people typically spend building a cab?

ark_ader:
I have a huge box of arcade stuff, a pile of cut wood and a bunch of tools that have cost me total well over £500.

It is becoming more expensive to put this  :censored: together on a day that I am:

a) off work
b) have a few hours to myself to do it
c) that it isn't raining.

This weekend isn't looking good either.  :lol

TopJimmyCooks:
Ark, I appreciate your sacrifice so I can have a wet race at silverstone and my boys can win.  (lewis and jensen)

Dawgz Rule:
All told, mine ran around $1500.  The big expense items were the arcade monitor and the artwork.

dgame:
Scratch builds, like yours, will generally cost more as you have to acquire everything.

Monitors are probably the single most expensive component.

The PC and controls can vary in price depending on what level of performance you want.
Though I would not skimp here.

Converting an existing cab can be a lot cheaper than a scratch build as others have noted.

Your design is rather ambitious and you want good parts hence the price.

As long as you are not getting ripped off for the individual pieces, then the price is what every little thing you want adds up too.

Dawgz Rule:
The price can add up but I have to say that it was one of the most enjoyable projects I have ever done.  Would like to start another but that isn't going to happen without sacrificing a pinball.
