krick:
I just wanted to make a note here so I could find it again in the future.

Here's another PCI string that needs to be added (along with the one above) whenever the drivers are touched again...

I just got an XFX HD 4350 1GB card that doesn't seem to like crt_emudriver_9.3_1.2a_x64.  At least, the lowest resolution available is 320 x 200, but when you choose it it is apparent it is actually outputting 31kHz.

I had a 3450 in there before that was working fine, but I wasn't happy with the need to double the frequency because of the dot clock.  I had hoped the 4350 would fix that...

I uninstalled in safe mode, ran the cat-uninstaller, rebooted in safe mode, installed the crt_emudriver_9.3_1.2a_x64.  Rebooted.  booted into windows and no go.  Reboot and still only 320 x 200 (that is running at 31kHz).

Is it possible my card has a device ID that isn't in your drivers?  I'd look it up right now but I managed to nuke my display by installing soft_15khz.  Now I can't see anything.  I can fix it by that will take time.

Is it worth me looking up my device ID string etc?  Shouldn't this have "just worked"?  What am I missing?

I can't tell you how excited I am by this.! I was so stoked to get a 3450, but then when I had it working I learned about the low dot clock issue.  =(

Then I bought a 4350 online.  Stupid ID doesn't work so I can't register it, and XFX won't let you into their support section without first registering.  Doh!  No new BIOS for me...

Any help is appreciated.  I can dig up any info you need--just tell me.  Not sure if its needed or I'm missing something obvious.  Thanks for any help!

I should mention I've tried both the VGA and DVI(to VGA) ports.

Windows gives me this device ID:

PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_954F&SUBSYS_29201682&REV_00\4&1603E009&0&0008

I've chased down a number of threads to learn how to manually edit in my device ID into the proper files.  Turns out...they're already there.   ???

So the driver should see the card...what's the problem?  Every resolution I have outputs at 31kHz.  I'm at a loss and could use some direction guys/gals...

I'm running win XP 64bit SP2.  I have an XFX HD 4550 1GB card.  I've tried using both VGA and DVI (DVI is the correct one to use?).  I've tried both dual link and single link DVI to VGA adapters.  I'm outputting to both an LCD and a PVM via a VGA switchbox, so as to not blow the PVM.

I install quickrez and the calamity drivers.  Reboot.  The lowest resolution I have is 320 x 200 and it runs at 31kHz.

What am I doing wrong and how do I fix it?

I'm moving my questions over here.  My card is (isn't?) an HD 4350.  Perhaps that's the problem?
