Are there any 4-player arcade games that require a 6 button layout?
DFitz1138:
Trying to design my first control panel. I have the shape decided and working on laying out where the buttons will be before I cut anything. It's going to be a 4 player setup.

The setup above is the order for the players. Are there any 4-player games that need a 6-button layout like what you would see in fighting games like street fighter? Wondering if I should give players 3 and 4 6-buttons or just 4. Any advice or info would be greatly appreciated.

Nope. Most buttons in arcade games for P3 and P4 is 4 (and that's only for a couple of games).

Yup. The D&D games are the only 4-player-simultaneous games that I can think of that take up to 4 buttons per player.
BadMouth:
Guilty Gear Isuka uses 5.
It's playable with Demul, but not worth the hassle of the extra buttons IMO.
If I were building a 4 player panel, I'd probably only use 3 buttons for P3 & P4.
Most people who put more buttons for P3 & P4 are doing it for console emulators.
(N64, Dreamcast, Gamecube)
See if there are any games for those systems you'd like to be able to play with 4 players,
then see how many buttons the games actually require.
(think Mario Party, Super Smash Bros, & sports games)

Just make sure that all four joysticks are angled the same. People say that when player 3 and 4 joysticks are angled different than 1 and 2 it's almost unplayable.
