I didn't know that. Are they gonna support more cores in the near future? They'd be crazy not to.

I imagine they will, but there is no telling when. I think im going to go with the i5 2500k, seems with good cooling you can reach 4 GHz easily. I just need a different MOBO Thought I was buying a great PC killer from dell but I got stuck with a LGA 775 socket!! :'(

Well you might wanna be sure that your Dell mobo actually supports that CPU in the first place. Just because it's a socket 775 doesn't mean that the processor that fits, works. There are many Dell lga 775's that don't even support Q6600s.

Thats why I mentioned I needed a new MOBO. I have a 775 now with a Q6600

If its a Dell, then you may not be able to replace the mobo easily. The cases are very proprietary in design, by Dell. For instance, does the back panel pop out? Are the mounting holes universal? is the motherboard even a standard dimension?
