Funny I was just looking at that part of your thread last night trying to decide if I wanted to take that on or not for my project.

Your demo turned out real nice.  Are you still planning on making those buttons for your cabinet?

I won't be using these buttons for the Astro 'Retro-Futuristic' cab, I've gone with solid red Seimitsu buttons over the Happ style because it suits the design style better and because there's plenty of lit up goodness elsewhere on the CP.  I want to build a bartop for my son and will use black Happ buttons with the green or blue light ring mod.  They are not that easy to make, precision cutting, shaping of the insert and carefully aligned gluing together is required to get a good result.  Now and then folks ask about them.  People with access to milling equipment or CNC machines could probably turn them out more easily.  I may do a tutorial video on how to make them and get a good result, I learned quite a lot from making the prototype i.e. what NOT to do.  Also check out ninjasquirrel's take on the idea in his very cool bartop project.

Thanks for pointing me at ninjasquirrel's build.

I missed that.  I like his jig for cutting the buttons.
