Back door of upright cabinet

How many out that has door at the back of the cabinet. I don't know if it is good idea to have one or not since i thought it would be easy to access anything inside the cabinet when needed but does the back panel hold the main support for the entire cabinet?  ???

I was thinking what if the monitor blow up or need to replace shattered plexiglass front of bevel or replace entire marquee lights unit or etc....

has anyone ever tried to fix or replace the monitor or plexiglass at monitor from the coin door at front?

I have the backdoors off in all of my cabs.  Why would you ever keep them on?  No one sees the back of your cab, it allows for more air inside, and it is alot easier to get into if repairs/adjustments need to be made.

cammada:
Never thought that, so you use timber stud to support the cabinet?

I have 2 cabs, admittedly neither is finished. The small one has a back door that is on hinges and opens easily. The larger one I planned on adding one however I just don't see the point. It has a half-back up top on it which is plenty, and accessing the cab is easy by just turning the cab. I used hockey pucks bolted to the underside of the cab with felt furniture pads on them. It's heavy enough to not slide while playing and slides with minimal effort if I need to access the back.

I have a permanent door at the bottom of my cab, aka a wall.

Then I have an open space that I always said would have a door but still doesn't, maybe  feet tall.

Than I have another door with hinges and a lock.

Oh, and in the open space area I have a 2x4 that spans the width of the cab with several heavy duty screws going through the outside of the cab into it.  The primary purpose is for transportation.  I can't imagine how I would have carried this thing without that brace to hold on to.
