Typical price for a glass top for a cocktail?
videolast:
It really depends on the edge finish you ask for. If you have the shop polish the edges or get a curve edge polish, it can cost as much as you say.
Now if you just get the oval piece cut with the "Seamed" edge, then it can cost as little as $35 for 1/4" (depends on your size). Of course a "seamed" edge is just the sharp edge when cut (sometimes they will lightly sand the edges a bit to make sure you don't cut yourself). If you are handy and don't mind the extra labor, you could sand the edges down to almost a polish with several grids of sand paper and a buffer. It works just fine but won't look as perfect as the glass shop.
Unstupid:
Ya can't temper the glass at home though! :-\

I bought this one for my Pac. The shipping was reasonable too.

Now that's a good deal! Do you happen to know the radius of the corners? I'm looking for 22"x32" with 4" radius corners.

I did a craigslist posting for my cocktail. I said i'd fix your computer, you make me the glass. The guy said he normally would charge $40 or so for the glass. Try craigslist. There are a lot of retired glass makers who will sell you the glass already cut to fit for pretty cheap.
The key is that you do a wanted posting and do one in multiple categories, not just in items wanted. You will save big time because you don't pay for shipping.
