Who has an unmodified real arcade control panel working with mame?
Jack Burton:
I used the control panel on my Mortal Kombat machine for a month or so before replacing it with a six button version.
There's nothing that really stops a person from using the original control panels for a MAME cabinet. It's just that most players would rather have extra buttons to access more games or features.
ArtMAME:
I have a stealth MAME Journey, Tron, Robotron, Crystal Castles, and Star Wars. Most were purchased as empty or converted cabinets. I restored them to original cosmetic condition and used MAME as a platform to run the original game, plus whatever other games that used the same control scheme.
The only truly unmodified control panel would be the Star Wars since I am using a RAM Controls SW Yoke to USB adapter, which is made to plug into the original SW yoke connector.
Malenko:
the KI2MAME link in my siggie. I sodl that cab and now I have a JPAC in my KI1 machine. Not really sure why you want pictures, it looks like a regular KI machine
Vigo:
I have done it, but it was with a Jamma machine. I used a jamma fingerboard and soldiered it to a control encoder and arcade video card. It was sort of a DIY J-PAC I guess, worked great.
I am guessing something like this could be translated to a non-jamma machine. If you can find the correct connector that your controls connect in on, you can just take an encoder and wire it to that connector. Then you will have no harm done to the original wiring, and still use the original controls.
