Sony Wega Flat Screen
LASmith132:
I have a Sony KV - 32FS100 - 32" CRT TV. It has a flat screen on it.
in your wise opinion would you think that would work well for an arcade? it has a s-video connections.
Rick:
It could - I just got rid of a 29" one, due to the extremely heavy weight to the thing. I had tested it to make sure it automatically comes up in the proper setting (S-Video) and it looked really good. I've since changed and decided to go with a 28" LCD.
mgb:
It could definitely work but if its the flat crt type, those things are heavy so secure it well.
MonMotha:
Most WEGAs have component connections, I thought. When set properly and the signals properly generated, this can look essentially arcade perfect. It'll take a little setting up, but the WEGAs are quite nice monitors, actually, and finding a 32" 4:3 set these days is quite difficult.
S-Video can look pretty darned good, but properly generating S-Video signals from a PC is darned near impossible due to poor design of the PC hardware (hint: the S-Video output on your video card will probably look like crap no matter what you do).

Exactly on this comment.
And the other comments are spot on, these things weigh a TON!
My sister has an old 36" to ditch (looks great though) I was considering getting for a shooting cab idea (hey its free) but it is about 250lbs of dead weight. That is just too much.
It's a shame as it would have been perfect and it would be free.
