Just because I had some emails about it... I'm not destroying the old cabinet, I was just going to use some free time making a new one instead of refurbishing my old one. I'm going to go ahead and clean up and fix my old one a bit. Going to use an LCD instead of a CRT and make some other minor changes. I think I would miss the arcade feel if I only had a pedestal version.

Well it took longer than 6-9 months for the house to be done. We just moved in last week. On top of that the 16x19 game room turned into a 20x26 'bonus room' with a 17x13 'media room' hanging off of it. So I'm going to have space for my original MAME cabinet and the future project of the Golden Tee style machine.
That being said I need to get my well used cabinet back up to par.
My first step is replacing the CRT Monitor I had. While I like the pixelated look that CRTs give to old games it was a bit heavy and I think I can fit a larger LCD in the 24" wide space. I'm looking for any ideas on monitors and mounting methods to accomplish this.
I'll BLOG my progress once I get started.

Find the largest IPS screen you can afford that will fit in there, The normal method is to hang a piece of wood across the inside Usually attached to some 2x2's and then you mount the monitor to that. I guess you could probably get a 26 or 27" 16:10 monitor in there. You could possibly/probably even have it rotatable.
