Smart power strip not turning everything else off after turning off PC
emb:
Whenever I turn off my PC, my marquee, monitor, and speakers are still on. It seems like the PC is still drawing power because the marquee, monitor and speakers do not turn off until I unplug the power cord on the PC.
Is there some kind of bios setting that can be adjusted for this? I went into my power management and disabled "Power On by Ring", "Resume by Alarm", and "Power on by keyboard". So far, those were the only settings I found which were relevant.
I am using a "GIGABYTE GA-G41MT-S2P LGA 775 Intel G41 Micro ATX Intel" Motherboard (award bios).

Nevermind, I figured it out. There is a tiny dial on the smart switch that needed to be adjusted. It must be for the power threshold.

Yup

I bought a smart strip, but it doesn't work at all for me. The speakers have an on/off switch that doubles as volume. I wanted to hook the speakers to the control outlet so that when I switch on the speakers, the monitor, marquee, and LEDs would all come on. That way I could turn off everything except the PC so I don't have this major "night light" running in our hall. :)
Anyhow, I can't get the smart strip to work. The only way I can get it to automatically turn other stuff on and off is to hook up my drill press or some other higher energy requirement item. The speakers just don't draw enough juice I guess; even after adjusting the dial on the side. :(

Why do you want to keep your PC on?
