Which one do you suggest?  The middle is keyed (not needed) and the last is a "friction" ramp?  The first?

Then contacts... too many choices.  I get to pick of several styles (1st/3rd) and the metal type.  Suggestions again?

Thanks.

MonMotha:
I gave some part numbers earlier in the thread that should work pretty well.  They're also the most common things you'll see when people sell a "KK series" connector with no other information.

The locking ramp, polarization key, etc. are all irrelevant in this case.  If present, they won't engage anything, but they also won't get in the way.

As for pins, you have to get the kind that doesn't try to "wrap around" the post but rather just press up against it with the housing holding the other side of the post.  This is again the most common style.

When I first looked at these, I made the mistake of looking at the picture, which wasn't a 15pin connector.  Thanks for putting up with all of the questions and sometimes poor reading skills.

Anyways, I was going to order, but the connector is a KK7880 series and the contacts are KK2759 series.  They aren't listed as compatiable on digikey's site.  What am I missing?  Are these just the parts you have to use to "make it work"?

MonMotha:
Hum, indeed.  That housing is from the "high pressure" line which I don't think works with those JST NH series.  Unfortunately it looks like the standard KK series only goes up to 12 positions.  I don't think I've ever had to deal with an NH any larger.

You can try that "high pressure" lineup.  The corresponding contact would be a Molex P/N 08-50-0005.  It's tough for me to tell if it'll fit or not.  It's made very similarly to the NH series stuff.  You could give it a shot.  You're out <$10 if it doesn't work.

If you do end up having to order those NH housings, RS-Online JP stocks them, but they only ship within Japan, so you'll need to use a deputy service or have a friend in Japan.  You may be able to find some in Europe somewhere.  JST Europe will sample some to you if you have a valid business.  I checked a few months ago, and this series was essentially non-existent within the US other than the 3 position housing and contacts in stock at Digi-Key.

Well, I ended up biting on one of the min orders and buying the correct connectors (I needed to place another order based on suggestions from MonMotha, what a helpful poster, THANKS!).  After I have verified that they work, I will have a few extras, but just a few.   :o  I also got an original jamma+ harness with players 3/4 on it to confirm they are correct.  I also have a couple boards to test them on between me and a friend.
