Help on cab "shopping"/haggling.
Well Fed Games:
Thanks again for all the info, extremely helpful. I'm in NW Indiana, so I know there has to be a lot around (Chicago is nearby, still a bit of a drive though). The place that posted on Craigslist is Star Amusements in Gary: http://chicago.craigslist.org/nwi/vgm/2230241177.html... nobody take anything good before I get there... ;D

What are the games you are selling?

PM sent. Don't want to jack this thread.

Well, I checked the place out, had LOTS of cabinets... a whole row of galagas, some pacs, a very nice (not working) xevious, some neo-geo, sit-down drivers, even an ancient Space Invaders. Bad part is, although the guy was nice and eager to "make some room," he wanted too much for everything, in my opinion. For instance, I think the Xevious he wanted like $400 for. Tried to haggle but was unsuccessful. I ended up paying $80 for a fairly abused MS Pac Man shell (will post pics later). It was hard, seeing so many sweet old cabs but knowing I shouldn't over-pay. Oh, well. Strangest thing I saw there- a Raiden DX in an old repainted burger time cab.
Place is only 20 minutes from my home, maybe I will give them some time and see if the cabs sitting there for a while motivates them to move them out. Until then, I have an old Ms. Pac cab to re-purpose...

I've wanted a good condition DK junior for a long time. I know of one for sale less than a mile from my house for $800.
The guy used to operate about 8 machines and refuses to budge on the price because of "how much these machines rake in, and all the upkeep".
Well, he still has the machine and it's at his house now, and he's not "raking it in." I have his number and will keep in touch in case he has a change in heart. I would suggest you do the same. You'll find cabinets now that you're looking.

$80 doesn't sound bad. i dropped about $300 on wood, screws and plywood blades for my MAME cab and about 4 nights making noise and pissing off the wife :lol.
Theres a guy selling a pole position missing the monitor and board for $25 that I'm thinking of picking up, Damn this hobby is addicting.
