Aimtrak Gun now optionally emulates joystick

(1/3) > >>

AndyWarne:

Latest firmware and config utility 1.6 available here:
http://www.ultimarc.com/aimtrak.html

This version adds an option to emulate an analog joystick instead of mouse. This is selectable in the config utility. This causes the analog X and Y axes to follow the aim of the gun so the full screen area is mapped to the full analog joystick travel.

Some PC games require this as they do not support mouse control.

Two bugs also fixed:

* Intermittently switching to Guncon mode on a PC when the PC is rebooted.
* Bouncing to opposite side of screen when going out of range

I guess this would make it easier for games like Revolution X.  Nice addition!

Revolution X already worked great for me..
I could use this feature on Dynamite Duke setting up keyboard "input"
and use Aimtrak "joystick input" for the shooting parts.
I'll have to play around with this for sure!

I said I was not going to ever upgrade my firmware after getting it all
set so nicely. I think I may change my mind.. ;)

Now if I could figure out some kind of way to switch back to "mouse input"
after a select few games this would be perfect!

Thanks!

Yes. It could great if it was possible some kind of configuration or combo with the buttons, like the calibration method... Button1+Button2 aiming out of screen during 30seg, for example...

For me, the best addition with the new analog emulation is that at least I'm able to play Starky&Hutch in two player mode, one with a Wheel and the other with the lightgun (I have not tried yet).

...I'm guessing the "complete" solution still isn't available...
