--- End quote ---

Unfortunately, distributors have to pay shipping and import duties as well, which they, of course, have to tack onto the price of the product, along with their margins, when they sell it.

--- Quote ---Randy, can you confirm the customs value will be marked accurately as $21.54 (or $22) ?
because if you carelessly put it as $25 or $30 that will cost me an extra $22 in charges.

We don't do anything carelessly :).   Whatever the total of your order is before shipping, that will be the amount declared on the package for import duties.  I understand UK to be a stickler on collection, but many countries don't bother with import duties on small orders.  I guess it costs them too much in overhead to collect a small amount.  Sounds like the UK gets around this by charging you a fee to collect the fee. :P

Got stung once, won some snowboard boots on eBay for $80 and the shopowner kindly marked the value as $250 on the customs declaration

Anyway for the sake of UK peoples I'll let you know if the package slips thorugh customs as it should with no charges or duty.

Randy -- any update on the OmniStick Basic?  Thanks!

jimmer:
update:
5x CLASSX true-leafs arrived today. Package sailed through customs as it should have with no charges.

I'm very happy with the product.
The feel is very nice, although I don't have any othe switches here to compare to yet.

I can't help the nagging feeling that I would prefer convex buttons though, so I'd suggest/request to Randy that he adds that option.

edit: hmmm I wonder.....  Randy, Did you make your plunger 'very compatible' with the Happ Competition convex?

They have been on order for a while, so we are hoping to see them soon.  They come from the EU, so it can take a while.  They aren't the most commonly ordered, and our cost to stock them is pretty high, so when someone comes along and takes what we have left, we end up short for while.

Glad to hear it!

No, and we did that for a few reasons.  But even if it was, the colors would never match.  On the convex front, we ponied up a good chunk of money for tooling a while back and have yet to see any samples.  I will continue to push it with the factory, but I'm not expecting anything in the near term.  The good news is, they seem to have overcome a few of the difficulties they had in producing this button style, so a more stable supply is going to be more likely as we continue, including the EI2's and NovaGem2's.

On that same note, we just got the last of the colors in for the NovaGem2's, including purple.  The challenge with purple, for those who were waiting for them, is the lack of a high-output purple LED to illuminate them well.  I will be recommending an RGB drive for this purpose, which, while not as bright as the NovaGem lights, looks great with them.

I will be putting them on the store very soon.
