Atari 800xl Help!
jimmy2x2x:
OK, how far do you get:
1) Do you see the picture of the atari800 in MA's main menu?
2) Do the games show up when you select the atari800?
3) What happens when you select a game?
JJRambo:
Hey jimmy,
Thanks for all your help, i was able to get it working with your settings. what I found out was, under configuration and media ROM path, I had to keep it the default from Maximus arcade. When I chose the executable, it automatically filled in the ROM path. I kept changing this to my game path and it would not work.
Now it shows up in Maximus.
Thanks man I really appreciate it
jimmy2x2x:
Great stuff!
Glad you got it working, good luck!

Sorry to bump up an older post, but here's a bit of info I have come across that might be helpful for others trying to get Atari800Win Plus to work smoothly in Maximus Arcade.
While popsicle noted that .XEX seems to work better than .ATR or cartridges, I have found that .XEX and .ATR work equally well, so long as the two aren't mixed (as in all Atari 800 ROMs to be used within MA should be either .XEX or .ATR, but not a mixture of both, as the command line parameters needed to launch Atari800Win properly are different for each format). Cartridges are an even bigger pain in the ass, as I have found that, once a cartridge has been loaded, it will continue to launch, even when another (non-cart) ROM is launched, until manually detached. My workaround for this was not to use .CART images at all. I am presently using all .XEX format images in my main 800 setup right now (as I have yet to find an uncorrupted .ATR image of Beamrider), though I have a couple of .ATR images that require BASIC to be enabled which must be launched with different parameters (setup as a different console/system in MA).
I also noticed another post that has come in handy (http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php?topic=55491.0), in which unclet (discussing 5200 emulation) posts a list of command line parameters he has found for Atari800Win Plus. Here is the list he came up with:
-configure Update Configuration File"
-config <file> Specify Alternate Configuration File"
-atari Emulate Atari 800"
-xl Emulate Atari 800XL"
-xe Emulate Atari 130XE"
-320xe Emulate Atari 320XE (COMPY SHOP)"
-rambo Emulate Atari 320XE (RAMBO)"
-5200 Emulate Atari 5200 Games System"
-nobasic Turn off Atari BASIC ROM"
-basic Turn on Atari BASIC ROM"
-pal Enable PAL TV mode"
-ntsc Enable NTSC TV mode"
-osa_rom <file> Load OS A ROM from file"
-osb_rom <file> Load OS B ROM from file"
-xlxe_rom <file> Load XL/XE ROM from file"
-5200_rom <file> Load 5200 ROM from file"
-basic_rom <file> Load BASIC ROM from file"
-cart <file> Install cartridge (raw or CART format)"
-run <file> Run Atari executable file (COM, EXE, XEX)"
-state <file> Load saved-state file"
-refresh <rate> Specify screen refresh rate"
-nopatch Don't patch SIO routine in OS"
-nopatchall Don't patch OS at all, H: device won't work"
-a Use OS A"
-b Use OS B"
-c Enable RAM between 0xc000 and 0xcfff in Atari 800"
-v Show version/release number"
Hopefully someone will find some of this useful...it certainly helped me get things running much more hiccup-free in MA.
