There's a matrix? It can be repaired? I had absolutely no idea such a thing was possible.

Yeah at the time the pain did not kick in (sorry) for quite some time, and I got some locals at the EMU (this is starting to sound funny) and went to a guy that specializes in foot surgery.

I was going to step (sorry) in to more detail but I found this:

The doc cut down both sides of the nail to stop the ingrown part.  It looked pretty gross, and I found a good picture but toed with the idea of posting it.....too gross....so here is the alternative:

Its a great conversation opener when you are in a group hot tub....   :puke

Oh, I think that one is great.

From what I've heard, if you show up at a US hospital, they cannot turn you away.

My wife broke her toe by dropping something on it, she went to the emergency room where all they did was give her a big shoe to wear so she didn't bump it , they said there's really nothing they can do for a broken toe, unless of course you completely crack the bone in half. So they basically just said let it heal on it's own. Well she broke it again a months later this time we didn't pay for any emergency room visit , she just let it heal and all is well.

Be careful.

Hang on, don't you guys now have national health care? Apologies if it's answered in the thread, I'mtoo lazy to read it  :P

Ok, read the thread. Now I understand. So...

Emergency rooms are required to treat patients.  And then you'll get a $5,000 bill.  If you can't pay you're forced into bankruptcy.
