yweiss:
Hello everyone, I ordered now some classic pushbutton from ultimarc.com, I know that I need to drill a 28 mm hole but this is the problem..
I went today to buy 28 mm drill bit but I didnt found, I founded 22 mm, 25mm, 30mm, and even 29mm hole saw but 28 I didnt found the wirdest thing is that I found a hole saw that it is 1 1/8" and I know that its is good but it was 29mm and not 28mm, so I want to know what bit drill should i get? 25mm? 30? or 1 1/8" thats its 29mm?
10x for helping..

You want to get the smallest one that fits your buttons. I would go with 1-1/8" which is 29mm. That will fit the buttons you have. A little bigger is ok, it just means the button won't fit snugly but when you tighten it down it will hold firm and not move.

Thank you for posting this. I had just read this thread, and was actually wondering what damage going with smaller holes would do. I can only imagine it would wreck the threads, and probably feather/destroy some of the MDF (if that's what's being used) and your solution makes a world of sense.

Get the 1-1/8". I think that is what Happ recomends for drilling holes for their buttons.
If nervous, just take some scrap wood and do a test.

So you saying that 1-1/8" which is 29mm and 30mm are both good for me?
