Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 problems

You say you have a debit card system in place. Did you tap into the power supply of the game, or did you add a new power supply? At the place I work, our readers are 12v, and we run a couple naomi based games fine... 18 wheeler, DOC. We don't have MvC 2 though. I'd try taking the reader out of the loop and see if it works then.

our reader is from Sacoa. we tap into the games power supply. Basically we add a 110V outlet inside the game and then there is a 9v adapter plug that gets plugged into the new outlet that powers the Sacoa controller and its parts. I did already try unplugging the Sacoa components to no avail.
I did just remove the cart from the Naomi unit and hit the inside of the Naomi unit with some canned air to blow al the dust out and blew out the cart ala old school NES days. after I re-installed the cart I powered it on. This time it booted to the main menu screen. I coined up just via the service credit button inside the coin door. Hit player 1 start, picked my 3 fighters. I got as far as the vs screen (showing my fighters vs the three computer fighters) then i got a white screen and nothing else. Re-booted the game and tried again, this time on player 2 and got the exact same thing, only this time I got a black screen instead of a white screen and it self re-booted. got the Naomi splash screen and it all re-loaded. Tried one more time on player 2 and got the white screen after the vs screen and nothing else.

Ok. Try booting it into test mode if you can, do a rom test and see if any of them are bad.
I'd check both the naomi and the cart rom tests, provided you can get to them.
Also, according to another post on the naomi board posted above, the naomi hardware is also sensitive at the 3.3 voltage, so check on that as well. I'd recommend checking at the board and not the power supply.
Check for board damage as in this link ... http://www.ki4swy.org/repair/2010_07_NAOMI/
A leaky or bad cap could result in what you're describing.
Another possibility is loose or damaged wiring. Sometimes there's a break inside the insulation so it's not visible, and when it's cool it has continuity, but when it heats up, it will separate. Those are frustrating to try to find.
I'd also take a look at the molex connections from the power supply to the board. Make sure they're not loose.
I can't stand having a game down all weekend, I'm sure it's frustrating for you.
