A friend and I have been working on a side project for the past few weeks and I think the game is getting pretty close to Alpha, and I'm just hoping to get some feedback from the arcade game experts.

Our goal on the project was to make a very simple game in a very short timespan which is still fun to play, so nothing in the game is exactly groundbreaking, but I would love to hear what you guys think.  What I'd especially like to hear are specifics on what you do and don't like about the game, and feel free to be harsh if you hate it because criticism is the best way to find the flaws.

Keep in mind that the majority of the art is temp and that I know the game still needs a lot of polish and visual feedback, I'm mainly concerned with refining the gameplay itself.

Anyways, on to the game.
It's call Wall Runner and is controlled using 2 buttons.  Space for jump and X (or Ctrl) for attack.  The gameplay consists of constantly running to the right while your being chased by a large dragon.  You lose when you get knocked back into the dragons mouth.

There are several objects in the game which can help or hurt you:
-Ring - Collect for points
-Skull - Destroy for points, if bumped into by player before its attacked it explodes, knocking the player back towards the dragon
-Wall (Purple) - Destroy for points OR avoid and they hurt the dragon (slowing the level), standing in front of the wall halts your movement, pushing you toward the dragon.
-Wall (Black Skull) - Only object you cannot attack.  Standing in front of the wall halts your movement, pushing you toward the dragon.
-Green Potion - Power Up, always try to grab these.

Movement:
-Jumping flips you from the floor to the ceiling and vise versa.  You can cancel a jump in the middle by double tapping the jump button, although this can only be done once per jump.
-Running on the ground moves you away from the dragon.  You have no forward movement if attacking or jumping.

The game also works with a 360 controller (as you'll notice the menu button art), and any place it prompts you to press A, you can press Space, and anyplace it says B, you can press X.  Of course the menu buttons also work with a mouse if you prefer.

Heres a link to the game: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8445883/Wall%20Runner.rar
Just extract and run WallRunner.exe
However you will also need to install the XNA redistributable which can be found here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=53867a2a-e249-4560-8011-98eb3e799ef2&displaylang=en
or here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/8445883/xnafx31_redist.msi

Any comments on the game will be appreciated, good or bad.
Thank you.

Sorry man, I could not get it to run.  I installed the XNA redistributable and every time I tried to run the exe i got an error message saying "InfiniteRunner has experienced a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience".  Hope some other people are able to try it and give you some feedback.

Strange, I wonder why it isn't working for you, I've tried it on a number of other comps and haven't had an issue yet.  Thanks for trying though.
