T-Molding "Gap" fix?

Hah! Was going to start the same thread, until I found the hot glue method.....haven't tried it yet, but will do since 95% of my molding is done.

Ginsu Victim:
Quick fix that worked well for my friend's cab:
Scotch tape folded into a loop.

We just laid it across the gap, tapped the T-molding in, and it has held great.

Same here, the tape fills in the gap enough for the teeth to grip on.

In the past when that happened, I just made sure to remove all the t-molding, then filled in any trouble area gaps with bondo.  Once it dried, I sanded it down smooth and then used a Dremel with a cut-off wheel bit to carefully slice an opening in the center to line up with the existing opening for the undamaged areas.  Then I re-installed the t-molding and it gripped perfectly.
