Mounting screen plexi

(1/1)

jimmy2x2x:
Whats the best way to the plexi that goes in front of the screen?

A channel on all four sides, just left and right, just top and bottom..

I am planning to use a light tinted layer, with bezel graphics applied then a front transparent sheet closest to the player

I want to be able to remove this if required for future maintenance, the sides of my cab will be fixed and the marquee will be removable

I used glass... but the same method could apply to Plexi...

I chose to build a 1x2 frame behind the glass... the glass then leaned back onto the frame.  I secured it with these shelving stops used in wall units, etc. (from Home Depot).   They "plug" into holes drilled in the sides of the cabinet.  They are removable... so it worked for me...

use a wooden strip or an aluminium bracket 2 hold the plexi . a groove on top and bottom makes it easy 2 flip out. i would only recommend plexi on bartops . on fullsize cabs and cocktails i ll allways use floatglas 6-8 mm . its cheap and scratch resistant ( payed bout 10 euro for a 6 mm 48cm x 40 cm my flotaglas with polished edges ).

Mine is actually held in by gravity.  :laugh2:

I was originally planning to use some velcro to secure it to the wooden bezel I built in behind it, however its such a snug fit that its just the tension of the cabinet, and the angle that its sitting. Getting it out would require a dime or something to cram in the gap, but this works fairly easily.

Same here. I've only built one, but a snug fit holds it well. I have to push it from behind to get it out.
