Anyone know the distance between the u360 Magnet and the PBC board?

Thanks! Back to work for me ...

Bender:
two things

1)I got a little less than an 1/8"

2)having done what you are doing I can tell that the standoffs can get in the way of the magnet (especially if because you need a bigger one)
I made "L" shaped brackets that I attached to outside of the plastic base to compensate for the longer space the stereo plug creates. I also had to use a larger diameter magnet because the added length crates more travel for the magnet (it did really funky things with the stock magnet) although there are some fine tuning things you can do if you edit some of the software

good luck and let us know how it goes
and for god sakes take pictures, I was lame and forgot so now I don't have the documentation that would be helpful to you and a few others :banghead: :banghead:

Thanks Bender ... It was your photos that got me started on this  ;).

I "Think" that I have a way to get around all that without much modification ... so ... we'll see about that.

BTW, how did you mount the magnet to your stereo Jack ... I'm toying with a few ideas but haven't fallen on one yet.

Bender:
I've had success with two ideas, 1st I used two small magnets one actually inside the stereo plug (I think you mean plug, the male part right?) and one inside the aluminum "cup" that holds the sensor magnet, then they just stick together

The other way was much more simple and direct....     Epoxy!

Can't wait to see how you "get around all that" I hope it works cause I'm working on the same thing, basically I'm trying to make an almost completely flat stereo plug that would essentially fit inside that "cup" on the back of the sensor magnet, and it is a pain in the Arse

Hi Bender,

Well, my "fix" involves using the Circular restrictor, so although it's not ideal for everyone it works pretty well. I've gotten it all to work, but "ideally" I would shave a little of the aluminum off of the magnet outer diameter ... that way it won't hit the sides.

The other alternatives is to lower the restrictor, or find a slightly less tall Male Stereo plug ... currently I'm looking into both.

I had a little setback last night, while unscrewing my ball top, I ended up twisting off my LED ... which is a big problem considering I JB-welded the stereo jack on the bottom ... alas ... back to the lathe she goes ...
