I actually have a Dreamcast lying around here somewhere. Maybe its worth something now with this information, Play n trade were only going to give me $10 for it!

Well you most likely won't see Modern Warfare, or any game that uses the Analog sticks, as there isn't an eloquent or easy way of hooking those up. D-pad and buttons only.

The DC is a great cabinet machine because of the amount of arcade shooters, fighters, and puzzle games that were released on it. When I say released, I don't mean ported...the DC's hardware is basically arcade hardware, so they didn't have to change the games very much (mostly FE changes). They're also cheap, and the DC controllers are relatively easy to hack up to connect to joysticks and buttons.

There is also Mame emulators available for it...so yeah, if you're willing to throw a PC into an arcade cabinet, I don't see why you wouldn't use a DC (or modded original xbox for that matter).

That seems about right for a year ago. Current local CL ads in my city has people selling the whole package with a bunch of games for about that much now.

cool thanks for the replys and comments, i know that its not perfect thats why i wanted to post it and get some feedback  ;D  i actually already started a second box thats much better done from the start, as the previous was the first run, the second is a half inch shorter and all around much more quality on the build. ill take into consideration all your comments, thanks for your help!

Not bad for a first build man. My first custom stick looked much much worse. Hell actually, the second one I'm working on isn't even that good, but it's all a learning process. I agree with most of what Shfifty said. A word of advice as well. I would actually list what you made the box out of in your description, instead of just "quality materials". As "quality MDF" would be nothing like "quality exotic wood" or whatever...The Community your targeting will be more interested in exotic materials. Run a Google search on Byrdo. He's done some excellent work and he has pictures of all of it on his site. A great inspiration for what you and I do.

Keep at it!  You will only get better (and you will build faster too).  The criticisms people posted above are valid but you have the right attitude - back to the drawing board to make it better!  Good luck!

Jeez, you didn't have to rip into the guy, he's just trying to make a buck off of his work, and he wasn't even pushy about his post...
