Hello everyone. I am setting up my first Mame cabinet and wiring it this week thanks to Birdtales.

Does anyone know if there is anyway I can run a program that removes clones and duplicates of the same game? I am having trouble discerning which version of games is best as some have 5and 6 versions.

I heard someone mention a romchecker to validate all roms. any info on that is appreciated.

Also in Mamewah is there any way to sort games by control type as I am going to have 2 different control panels and would like lists that correspond with each.

Appreciate the help.

Tom

Well since you are using MAMEWAH, generate a custom list to remove the clones (Games List Options > Generate Custom List using Filters).

You can use the above method to generate lists based on controller (Input type) as well :)

Thanks. Can you expand on that direction or clarify for me. I went in and have no trouble adding to a custom list but I don't see a using filters option. Perhaps I am misunderstanding or do I need to edit a certain text file and specify certain parameters?

Also once I do that I wonder if there is a way to single out those removed titles and delete them freeing space.

Appreciate it

You need to select the custom list you wish to use first - then the 'Generate Custom List using Filters' option will appear in the Games List Options menu.  That's all you need to do :)

There is no way of actually deleting the ROMsets you don't want.  You would have to do this manually, although I personally wouldn't bother!

Great. Thank you. You did an awesome job with that and appreciate your hard work. If you ever need any graphic work. I am a 3d animator and illustrator. I might be able to contribute.

Also one question Is there a way to move allgames to a custom list so it can pull from them to sort or do you point to another directory when filtering.
Thanks

Tom

You can use the 'Generate Custom List using Filters' menus to generate a list of all games by say turning off clones, then on again (or alter altering any filter like that).

Not sure if that is what you meant?...
