Elo touchscreen monitor help
« on: May 15, 2010, 01:42:51 pm »
Ok i purchased an Elo touchscreen monitor second hand off ebay last year for a jukebox that i was going to build...Basically never ever had time to get round to this and now i am..Tried testing the monitor out on my pc last week and was at it for hours but no luck on getting the touc screen part of it working...

Can get the actual monitor to display my pc but just no touchscreen working...

Tried using this as the only monitor on my pc and then tried dualing it with my regular dell screen...Still no luck

Installed all the drivers from Elo's website and tried getting the align screen for setting up the touchscreen but just says...No touchscreen monitor found...

The serial of the monitor is...ET1747L-8SWF-1             945446-001

Im using this monitor trough serial to usb and also installed all the drivers for that part of hardware...

The monitor has 4 different connectiong for video and one for power...S-video..Serial...Dvi and vga....Also one for power which is a 12v....Dont know if this is useful to solving this problem or not ?...

any help on this situations would be appreciated guys :)....

I can take and post pictures also if that would any help ?

Thanks alot

Jamie

translation:

There might be a USB port on the back of the monitor, you might have to hook that up. some touch screen interfaced used one or the other some even both on the monitor.

Most ELO monitors don't like being plugged in before the drivers are installed. go ahead and uninstall everything and then start again. plug in the monitor touch screen cables last.

If your monitor is like mine, the port that looks like an S-Video port is not. It's used to connect a controller module for adjusting monitor properties, such as brightness.

My controller port is more like a PS2 port.

But as for your touchscreen issues, I have NEVER gotten my ELO to work through the Serial to USB adapter I have.
If you can try it strictly to a serial port.

Cheers for the help guys..

No there is no other usb port andrew...

Yeah i think it could be the usb to serial thats my main problem after an uninstall of all drivers then a reinstall and plugged everything in...

I'll go ahead and order myself a serial port card for my pc tonight and see if that works..

Cheers
