Mini Monitor to display game button configs

Have there been any projects where people use a small display, maybe something similar to the one I have linked below, to display the button assignments for each game?   Like through using CPViewer?

I would think that it would be reasonably easy to do.  I'd imagine that you'd have to maybe export all the jpgs of the controls through CPViewer.  But then I'm not sure how you'd get it to display on the other small screen when the game launches.

Any one have any idea how one would do this?  Or if it's been done before, a link to the project?

Thanks!

Beretta:
can not help you on links but yes i believe there have been others that have done this, so im 99% sure it's possible.
have you tried searching here? or maybe google.. i know this has come up before.

the price ain't cheap.. for 99 or a little more i can get a much larger screen.. granted im not sure where you would FIT a much larger screen though.

Did it here, but I never got around to writing the instructions. I used Irfanview to display the images

Great!  Thank you very much.   I was not having any luck searching.  I've seen many people ask about it, but Ginsu's the first one where I've seen it working!

If I ever save up enough money, I'll have to check out Irfanview some more!!

Ginsu Victim:
Luckily Irfanview is a free program. What frontend do you use? I used Mamewah, which is running pre-emulator command lines to load up each image. I made the CP images using CPwizard.

I'll have my friend send me a copy of the INI file from Mamewah, since I forgot the exact command line arguments.
