How to fix LCD Screen scratches?
shateredsoul:
I received my monitor!
It's a lot bigger than I thought it would work but, it's scratched! :-[ Makes sense why I got it for about 60 bucks less than other people were selling it.
I looked over the ebay add again and it was noticeable in one of the pics! It was my fault for not checking closely.
Does anyone have some home solutions for lcd scratches? I found this link that includes several solutions (including a Vaseline solution!?)

I also found different products such as well

Has anyone ever had any success in removing scratches? They're not very deep except that on in the picture (and even that one dissapears when you're playing most games)... but it irks the hell out of me. Any suggestions?

Try putting an anti-glare screen cover on it. You probably won't see the scratches and you can tell company it's to make it easier to see rather than being embarrassed by scratches.
As for repair, it depends on what the screen surface is made of. If it's the older style that's a mat finish, you are probably SOL. If it's the shiny plastic style that a lot of the expensive displays have, you might consider Novus products. They are designed to fix plastic surfaces (pinball play fields for example), so they should look nice when you are finished.

I've actually used the Vaseline trick on the monitor I'm using right now. It does help make the scratches a lot less noticeable when the monitor is on. I can still see the scratches pretty well with the monitor off. Overall, it worked well enough that I kept the monitor.
