Well, I managed to hold on to the high score in Bomb Jack, so it's my turn to pick the game.   ;D

The next game is going to be Smash T.V.  I loved this game as a kid, though I didn't get to play it enough to get any good.  I imagine competition should be pretty strong on this one, so I am looking forward to honing my very rusty skills!

I've chosen the TG single player marathon rules:

----------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------
ROMSet: SmashTV
1-8: Off
2-8: Off
Unknown: Off [All]
Service Mode: Off

Internal Defaults
-----------------

Difficulty: 3 [Easy]
Lives Per Play: 3
Violence level: Normal

Sound must be turned OFF for proper INP playback

Special Rules: The above are the default internal settings for this title and need not be changed. This is a Single Player, Single Credit ONLY variation. Continues are NOT allowed!

Special Note: It is possible to earn extra lives throughout the course of the game. Additionally, “point-scrabbing” also known as “hunting” is allowed in this title, with the sole exception of unlimited hunting techniques in certain buffalo and robot boards within Act II, as per the Twin Galaxies Board of Referees.

----------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------------------------

- One credit only.

- No continues!

- No MAME cheats!

- Last day is Saturday March 20th (11:59:59pm Pacific Daylight Time), 2010.

- High score wins.

- No savestates, savestate practices, etc. during the round.

- MAME INP recordings are optional, but encouraged!

- A screenshot is required to enter a score (press F12 to save screenshot showing your final score) or take a photo of the screen if playing on a real machine.

- If you're a MARP competitor on this title, keep in mind this is just a friendly competition amongst forum members, so maybe you shouldn't enter. However, if you're a forum member and this is a game you're good at and nobody knows about it, this is your time to shine!

Good luck!

I guess I'll start it off...  568900

Anybody have any tips?

could you explain this a little more? is this where you just sort of "camp" in the corner and wait for the automatically generated "idle player" killers to appear and just keep shooting them?

I copied that straight from the Twin Galaxies' rules.  Like I said, I never really got a chance to play this enough to get good when I was a kid, so I don't really know any tips or tricks.  Hopefully there are some more experienced Smash T.V. players on here that can enlighten us...   :dunno

Buffalo don't appear on the first level. I think you have to be a couple of rooms in on the second level to see them. I've only gotten ~450K so far - almost got to the money room. I assume I will get over 500K once I get that cash bonus. Back in the day, I used to be able to get to level 2 on a quarter, so more to come...
BTW: What kind of a$$hole hides a land mine under a perfectly good VCR.
