Finding a cabinet's value
dullivan:
Hi everybody. First time poster here. I've been lurking for a bit to get my bearings on what I'm getting myself into with building a cabinet, and I recently decided to go for it. As my first step, I picked up a cocktail cabinet on craigslist to use for parts.
Long story short, the whole thing is in better shape than I thought it would be from the ad (it runs. that was the first surprise :lol) and now I'm sure I shouldn't be figuring out if it's worth more than I paid for it and possibly sell it to buy new parts instead of cannibalizing some of it and scrapping the rest. In other words, where can I figure out how much I could get for this thing and possibly get it back into a new happy home instead of ruining it and/or selling the rest piecemeal?
If anybody wants to take a guess, it's a Birdie King 3 cocktail cabinet. I think it's a custom job, but if it is it was very nicely done. It's got trackballs on either end and the screen flips when you change players. So far, I've opened up the trackballs and cleaned them, as well as cleaning up the screen, some of the buttons and coin mechanics, things like that, but that's about it.
Any thoughts?

It's for dedicated cabs, unlike here which is where we build from scratch.
TOK:
Its complete and working, but not a hugely desirable game. My guess is $150 to $250 depending on condition.

the only real way to find a value for it is to try and sell it. Just because the wolrd thinks a cab is worth $500 doesnt mean you'll get $500 ya know? post it up in the for sale section and watch the lowball offers roll in (I am allowed to say this because I lowball all the time)
