Back to Mouse hacking

They are not built the same, so I'm pretty sure he's asking a different question than what that mouse will solve. I tried to give him a hacked mouse or two a while back, but he wants to do things differently. :dunno

Thank. But if you remember, you didn't have any hacked mice that had more than three buttons.

1. Mini-pac or other interface
2. 5 button mouse hack
3. "regular" mouse hack and keyboard hack
4. Plugging tornado in via PS/2 and keyboard hack
1. You've stated that you don't want to use the Mini-pac.
2. I don't know if the 5 button mouse hack will work. Try it and see if it works.
3. No point in hacking the mouse if you can already connect the spinner to the PC.
4. May be the route to go. You already have the Tornado and simply need to hack a keyboard for five buttons. Shouldn't run into ghosting for five buttons.

1) I'm not using the Tornado for this project. As I've said, I am using original arcade controls.(ie: Arkanoid spinner).
2) And I'm only looking to have to connect a single cable to the pc.

You can say that you have been clear in your previous posts, but a few people have commented that you haven't. You say:

A few? Perhaps one of two. And only because they weren't concentrating on my original post, but instead looking to get more information on why instead of what I wanted to do.

And I'm talking about game play buttons.(Not that any of this was supposed to be about my specific project).
Admin and other functions will be relegated to the keyboard.

My list gets you 5 buttons and a spinner. No matter how many times you say it, my list will work. It may not be everything that can be done or the right thing for you so I'm just throwing them out there.

I'm not disagreeing.

HOWEVER.... in reading your other posts, you say you want:

I have the PS/2 connection on my Tornado. And the MiniPAC would be for games with more controls(joystick or more than three buttons) when not playing the spinner games.
I was just trying to figure out a way to get all that while only having to use a single connection from the control panel, which would be the USB connector from the MiniPAC.

If this is relative information, it would have been helpful for you to say that too.

??? It wasn't relevant information. That was a quote you grabbed from a totally different thread.

I don't know if it still applies or not. People want to help but when they say it's not clear or ask for more info, I would take that as a sign that it isn't clear to everyone and clearly stating all of your needs and parameters in one list will help eliminate people suggesting stuff that you don't want to do. It's your call but it may help everyone help you better. :)

Well, if they would just concentrate on my original question...

ok, that's easy then...
--- Quote from: D_Harris on February 15, 2010, 02:13:06 pm ---I'm curious as to what results have been achieved by any who may have hacked optical or laser mice for their control panels. (Feedback on wire-less mouse hacks would be appreciated also).
Have there been any good results?

No.
There, we can close the thread now...

I know it's from a different thread. It seems like it is relative if you answered number 2 above saying that's what you want. Since that's what you want and you've said it here now and it is relative, throw out my suggestions of 2-4. Go with #1 or find another solution. If you go with #1, email Andy at Ultimarc and find out how to connect your Tornado to the Minipac.

Not if you consider just the original question that started this thread.

:hissy: Well, since my Tornado has a PS/2 connector on it and the MiniPAC has a PS/2 connection that should be a problem. Wait... Unless you consider that I only want to use on of the original arcade spinners I have.
According to some here I should be able to easily hack the Mini-PAC to one of my Arkanoid or Midway spinners. So why waste a Tornado?
