A few questions about changing pcb's

(1/1)

Hi all,

I have been working on a cabinet and would like to make my first dedicated cab.  I've never worked with these kind of electronics before, so I'm hoping it goes well.  I am soon going to order a pcb board, but wanted to check with the crowd and get some advice.  One thing I am wondering is, how do I know which pcb's will work with my current control panel?  Also, what kind of power supply should I purchase?  I don't have anything in the cabinet right now so I want to make sure I am ordering the right parts as I put the finishing touches on the cab.

If anybody has a suggestion on the power supply, I'd like to follow that up with testing various items.  I bought a wholesale lot of arcade parts....what is the best way to test an individual monitor, coin mech, et cetera?

Thanks!  ;D

If you are going to build one from scratch (not restore) have you thought about running MAME?  I restored a DK and it runs MAME and about 30 vertical, 4-way, one button games.  I love it and it's way more versatile than a dedicated cab.

Hi Javery, thanks for your reply!  I already have a MAME and love it.  Was just looking for a new project so I wanted to build a dedicated to compliment my game room.
