Interesting cab!

I think I got some X-arcade joysticks
stashed some place that I never used.
I'd be willing to part with them
if you guys are setting
this kid up with parts.

I think I'll side with the "leave him alone" camp. Give him props on Youtube, but leave it at that. Otherwise, it's like the equivalent of "Hey kid, nice job, but here are ALL THE THINGS YOU DID WRONG" blah blah...  I can just picture some people here telling him that a "credit card" for credits is wrong for example.

+1 on this.

His cab may suck in our book, but at least wait until he asks for help. For all we know he could be one of those kids who's a little bipolar and his parents don't let him have any scissors for a damn good reason. Of course that doesn't explain why he has a camera, but I digress. His home life may not be what we expect and a bunch of twenty plus aged men offering him money and gaming parts might not put him in the best situation at home.

And for anyone who wants to open private communication with him. Keep in mind, he is a child. Parents get weirded out when their kids are using PM/IM to communicate, it's much worse when Mommy and Daddy discover he's chatting it up with adults. Is he here on the forums yet? This is his best source for communication, ideas and for us to help him where he needs it. Plus it's a public place. If Mommy and Daddy are so inclined, they can read what we discuss about.

He could also be one of those kids that changes interests rapidly.  Two weeks from now that 'cab' could be sitting at the curb and he's just chatting on MySpace on that computer.  There are lots of kids like that, I was a kid like that, if I was the parent of a kid like that, I sure wouldn't help him build a giant wooden box to put a computer in. :P

Hey the kid started off A+ He didn't say "I like video games, you know - wii, ds, psp"

He said "I Like ARCADE games"   :D

But I agree his parents, if at all fit, they MAY be worried if suddenly a bunch of 30+ year-old dudes are trying to contact him from some site called BYOAC.
