Hey guys, I've got a countertop machine and I'd like to find some sort of countertop to put it on.
Want something with a small footprint and maybe 36-42" tall.
I've look at computer stands and there's some possibilities there.
Could build something if the plans were very simple.
Any ideas?

Not sure what kind of countertop machine it is, but if it's workshop related, I kinda like using Black and decker workmates.
You can pick those up on CL cheap most of the time. and they fold up quit nicely to tuck out of the way when you aren't using it, though it sounds like this will be more permanent.

Well, I made a 'counter top' machine around a 19" SVGA monitor, so it's a beast. I need to get off ---my bottom--- and get the thing finished, appearances be damned.

Okay, now that is a good idea. Went to Harbor Freight and looked at the stand. It's like midget toddler sized... Here's another possibility - seems pricey at $40, though, especially as I'd have to cut wood for it. Had holes ready to go for wheels, which would add a few more inches... http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=46075Edit - doesn't look like you can get one of those Husky Workhorse things from anyone for any price.

Okay, so the dimensions of my cab are basically thus:
Width at the back: ~15 inches Width at the front: ~28 inches
Depth from front to back: ~30 inches
Control panel height: 4 inches
Probably weighs in around 100-120 pounds.

Thanks, Chad. I'll probably cough up the $40 and go with the universal tool stand.

Hey, a bathroom vanity fits your description perfectly, adds storage underneath, and can be pulled right out of home depot finished. It's worth considering.
