I have all four gauntlet coin arrows done. A lot of the text detail got lost in making such a small jpg, but check it out:

In my goal to tackle as many projects as I can squeeze in, here is my progress on the 1943 Marquee started by Nomadikk. It looks alot better when not so reduced...but you get the idea so far.

I finally have regular access to a scanner and will be scanning ~15 marquees, some sideart, 7 bezels, and a few other goodies.  The problem is I have to scan the larger pieces in parts of 3 or more.  Rather than utilize my meager skills in MS Paint(the only program that I use now-no joke-that's how I sketched the Scramble Sideart on the Library), I would like someone on these boards with some ability to seamlessly stitch the parts before they're upped to the Library.
I've already done a test scan of Captain America and The Avengers @300 dpi in 3 parts with very promising results. Anyone interested in doing this?

I'm a third of the way done with scanning the marquees.  They are all scanned in 3 parts and each part is 3500 pixels wide.  Once they're converted to jpegs of the lowest compression(highest quality) I will simply upload them to the Library to be stitched and cleaned-up by anybody that wants to do it.  As per Zorg's recommendation, they will be in a single *.zip file.
Scanned so far:
Final Fight
Nova 2001
Kageki
Captain America
Roc n Rope
Quiz & Dragons

Update on scanned marquees:
TMNT (a bit dark on the left panel even with a bunch of tweaking)
Sky Soldiers
Astron Belt

Summer school is way too hectic, but I'll try to start upping this stuff by Monday.

More marquees scanned:
AquaJack
Asteroids
Time Killers

I've gotten these down to a single jpg of about 14mbytes each.  Mahuti is still trying to figure out how to host these as his site seems to have a limit of about 7 mbytes per pic.  No guarantees as to when he'll be able to fix this.

I can probably get scans of the CP and monitor bezel for Asteroids Deluxe, since it was requested a while back.  I can also get some high res photos of the CP and sideart, though if you want scans, it will be quite some time before I am in a position to do that.

time does not matter as much.

if you can get scan, go the scan way. it's more accurate and easiest todeal with a good scan than with a mosaic of photos.

Here's a CPO for the unreleased prototype game War of the Worlds...
There's probably not a demand for it, but I thought this posting would be timely considering that one movie with the crazy actor.
If there is a desire for this, then I'll eventually clean it up...someone else is going to have to vector.  This is not a custom one, but an actual mock up I did based on a photo of a proto cab.  The actual pic is about 3600x800 pixels.

Huh The above post shows what I thought to be the only type of CPO for the unreleased game War of the Worlds...I didn't realize that I had a bunch of other pics of a complete WoW cab already on my pc complete with sideart.  It appears that there is another type of CPO for this game.  Here's a shrunken pic of the other one I've got.  If anyone knows the history of this stuff, or if the one I'm working on is actually some wierd repro, please tell me.  I may try to complete the artwork for this game, but it may be beyond my abilities.

Just to let every vector guru know that MAMu_ of MAME ICONS fame is going to vector the Donkey Kong Junior Bezel.

I have skewed it and made it square again using the material in the library.

MAMu_ is about to go on holiday for 2 weeks...then he'll start on it.

See thumbnail below for image.

I was kinda board last night so I decided to try my hand at this vectoring stuffs.

Just uploaded my first completed vector last night. Its a new version of the tron spinner sticker. I used orel11's raw upload as a base, then once done, I colour matched it to mahuti's finished Tron CPO. Since this was my first true vectorized image, let me know if I did something wrong pleeeeeeeeease, otherwise I'll make the same mistake(s) again .

I also today just uploaded an Asteroids Deluxe cocktail table CPO vector.

My suggestion... start with a larger graphic so you can see the details. If you can't see them, you have to imagine them and draw them yourself... and that usually requires someone that's a somewhat talented artist to do.

Were I going to trace a pic... it would definitely not be that, especially for a first time.

you have a link to a MK dragon vector ? I can't find one

I've started on sub-zero from a 1280x1024 Shaolin Monk's picture.

Almost done outlining, hands might need some fine-tuning.

I'll post this to the vectorized art site if anyone is interested.  It was a lot of fun to do, and I may even use it on my cab somewhere!

Now, on to a more challenging project!

I'm working on the Rampage marquee. It's aboot 75% done. Still may take me awhile, but I'll upload to localarcade when finished.

EDIT: I uploaded it into the "unfinished" section. It's fairly complete, but there was warping on the original image, and that wasn't accounted for. Usable if people wanna spend a small amount of time fixing it. I'm not up to it right now.

Even though it's extremly rare, i think it would be pretty cool to vector. To atleast preserve the art of it and maybe even let someone else make a reproduction war of the worlds vector arcade machine. Speaking of which, were the roms ever dumped from that game? I don't recall seeing it dumped. War of the Bugs is the closest match, which is really not close at all. completly different game. Doing a quick search through ebay though, i was able to find someone selling an original "War of the Worlds" vector game in good condition under "collectables->arcade" category. According to the seller, only 10 were made. Not sure how accurate that is, but wow.

This isn't necessarily for a cab or anything, but I thought I'd show it off anyway. This is actually my first attempt with a vector program, so I'm fairly happy with the results. Hell, now that I think about it, maybe their will be a Batcade in the future...

Ooh, and I see localarcade has a section of raw photos. Maybe I'll try my hand at turning one of those into vector art.

LocalArcade had a photo of the BurgerTime marquee, so I thought I'd try my hand at it. Any comments or criticisms on the work so far?

And does anyone have any ideas for the interior of the burger patty? The marquee is basically line art and colour shapes, but the burger has a complex, painterly look to it, and I'm not sure how to replicate that in vectors. Some sort of llustrator generated pattern perhaps?

check how the burger was done in the bezel, no pattern generation, just hand and mouse. Cheesy

I'm working on the Centipede marquee.   I moved my original post to this thread.

This thing is a detailed monster.

Edit: Updated images to most recent version since I was posting them all over the place today... Smiley

I've been holding off on working on it for a while.  I'm waiting to see if they can fix some stuff in Sodipodi.   If not then I guess I'll head back over to Illustrator land...  Roll Eyes

I'm vectorising some SF and KOF characters for my cab's sideart, and thought it might be a good idea to share here.

WIP:
Chun Li - Street Fighter
Source image thumb:

Next on my list:
Ken - Street Figher
Ryu - Street Fighter
Iori - King Of Fighters
Kyo - King Of Fighters
Mai - King Of Fighters

From what I've seen in my searching, these characters haven't been done in this style/version or to a very high standard of accuaracy.  I you've seen this version of Chun Li in vector, let me know! - anyways I'm about 70% through.

I'll make them available when complete.

Also you'll find the Midway Logo. I've used both of these on my Mortal Kombat dedicated WIP.
