Title: Cabinet Plans page
Post by: JoyMonkey on April 17, 2007, 03:35:06 pm
I figured it would be nice to have a central place where people could list their cabinet plans.
So I started listing Jakobuds plans here...
http://wiki.arcadecontrols.com/wiki/Cabinet_Plans

I know there are some plans mentioned on the BYOAC Plans page (http://arcadecontrols.com/arcade_cabinet_plans.shtml), but I know people have posted lots more plans in the forum that usually get lost among the millions of projects threads.

Please feel free to update/add to the lists.

Look great.

What about these venders, who selling fulldized these (like mameroom and others)? Yes these are in vendos list allready, but I cant see the problem you can add them here?

It would be poor manners to list their plans without permission, and if they are using their plans to sell cabs, that might be hard to get.

I think he means to link them, not publish them :)

Yep, at the moment the page is just a list with links to wherever the plans are available.
For posterity, it might make sense to ask permission to host the freely available plan files. Seems like a lot of peoples older webpages are slowly going offline - remember that time Jakobud's site went offline and people started tearing each others throats out? It'd be a shame if all of these disappeared from the web.

Yeah, that's what I was assuming... a list of links is only so useful when things start disappearing.

I'd be happy to mirror any that are willing to let us.

Jakobud just gave me the okay to include the zip files containing his EPS and JPG files directly in the wiki. I'd upload them myself but I don't have permission to upload zip files to the wiki.
Any chance you could FTP them someplace Saint?

If you have an FTP would it be appropriate to upload the original Happy Hour PDF file?   I noticed it is missing from the wayback machine link.

Let me setup an FTP when I get home tonight. (Rather, there already is one but I don't have the logon details here with me)

I *think* you should be able to upload PDFs using the wiki's image upload form;
http://wiki.arcadecontrols.com/wiki/Special:Upload

Too bad you can't upload zips the same way, but I'm sure that would only open up the wiki for abuse.

If I try a PDF file it gives a warning that it is not a recommended file format and does not allow the upload.  Will have to wait to ftp it.

Thanks

OK - ftp to arcadecontrols.com
logon anonymously
CD to INCOMING
put files -- you can't download, it's an upload only.

Let me know if that doesn't work?
