Anyone have any tips for loosening wood glue?

When I had to remove some control panel sides due to poor construction, I used a hammer to knock the panels off. Granted, the glue was not very old, and I had room to swing the hammer. You might not.

Once you knock out pieces, you'll have to sand down any left-overs.

The bad news is that aliphatic wood glues (as opposed to the older hide-based glues) are basically stronger than the wood fibers themselves.

You'll have to either knock the pieces apart carefully or use a pry bar.
