Title: XBMC to launch an exe / game

Fooling around a little with HTPC vs. arcade games, and one of the interesting products is XBMC. However I just cannot get it to launch anything external. Does anyone have suggestions how to launch an arbitrary .EXE from XBMC?

on the xbox, they added support for shortcut (*.cut) files to help with this stuff.  I'm not really familiar with the windows version, but that may be a lead.
