Title: Namco Ms. Pac-man / Galaga 20 year Reunion project
Post by: BUCKETHEAD on January 27, 2010, 05:55:27 pm
Going to build a Namco Ms. Pac-man / Galaga 20 year Reunion cabinet.

Bought the most crucial part i think ? The front decal,  off ebay.

Received it in the mail today. Excellent shape!

Here's a picture below.

Any idea where to get the Marquee from ?

It's not easy to find at all.

Just as elusive as the front decal.

The side art is easy enough to get.  No problem there!

Awesome!  I've been thinking of building one of these myself.  There is one at a local pizza place I play whenever we are there.

Are you going to go with the 25" monitor?

Yes sir !  The 25"  and probably a 60 in 1 board.

I think the 25" monitor on these cabs looks bad.  The games were designed to run on a 19" monitor, and it doesn't look as good on a bigger monitor.  (Just my silly opinion! :) )

+1  At first I thought the big monitor was great, but after awhile it just seems stretched.

Same goes for all those type of cabs including the DK/DKJR/MB cab. I've played the 25" of that and 19 might be just as good if not better. Matter of preference I suppose.

I appreciate all you guys input on the monitor size.  Something to really think about.

I know the cabaret has a 19" but the cabinet is god awful lookin !

Any ideas on where i can get the Marquee?

Could you model it after an original Pac-Man cab and have the artwork work?

I own an original cab and I don't like the 25" monitors either.

I bought the Marquee and Scanned it in 2 parts.

I have no idea how to put it back together in Photoshop?

If anyone ever wants it?  just PM me.

Of course it will have to be vectorized also.

The 2 stickers on each side of the monitor.

I would contact Scott at mamemarquees.com for the stickers. You will have to either recreate or find someone who will do it for you but he will print them for you for a decent price if you ask.

Be sure to get the sizing right though. Maybe someone here with the same cab and those originals could help you with that.
