I finally hooked up Aimtrak to my cab, but am having trouble getting it to work properly. The main problem is that once I plug the PCB camera in, I am only able to control the mouse (via the camera) for a very limited amount of time. Sometimes I have time to calibrate it, sometimes not. As I'm attempting to calibrate, sometimes the cursor starts the calibration process multiple times.
I have tried unplugging and plugging the PCB camera in numerous times. Sometimes it work (and gives me control for a limited time over the mouse), and sometimes nothing at all happens.
I have also tried to update to the latest firmware (I even installed Microsoft.net framework like it said on the Ultimarc website). I'm not sure if the firmware actually updated or not. On the bottom right hand corner of the AimTrak utility tool, it says "NO DEVICE" in red (as opposed to "FIRMWARE 1.3" in green). I did, however, follow all of the steps listed on the Ultimarc homepage (the dialog box even said "downloading" at one point). Also, sometimes when I click to open the AimTrak utility tool, nothing opens at all (it only opens some of the time). Please help! I am so confused and am dying to get this to work. Thanks. :dunno

Does anyone have any advice?
Let me state the problem in a different way. Once I plug in the camera PCB, it will control the mouse pointer for like 10 seconds (sometimes it will even let me calibrate), and then the mouse will freeze. This requires me to try the process over and over again. :banghead:
Has anyone else had this problem? Is my sensor bar possibly defective? Let me also state that I have multiple USB gamepads, as well as a Turbo Twist spinner, hooked up to my cab. Is it possible that the Aimtrak is getting "crossed up"? :dunno Thanks for any advice.

You should try contacting Andy at Ultimarc for advice. You may have a defective AimTrak.

put the led bar in only then power on the pc then shut it down.
power it again with it plugged in and plug the gun in.
make the gun device 1.
now flash the gun with the latest firmware update tool not the tool use used to make it device 1 there is another tool in the aimtrak folder that I had to use in order to get my guns updated correctly.
once that is done go into your regular aimtrak program and make the trigger left mouse and the reload right mouse for now.
make sure your leds are facing the gun if not you need to bend them to face where you and the gubn are standing.
alos make sure you camera eye on the aimtrak pcb can see the leds withut the gun barrel being in the way.
use the program to calibrate shoot each of the cursor's when they stop in the top left top right then bottom center.
if gun is not on do it over until it is on.
once it is on go back into the program and disable calibration so it dont get messed up again by holding the trigger to put it in recalibration mode.
should be all set after that
also they require power through the usb so make sure you have them connected to a motherboard usb jack or a usb hub with an external power source.
