Title: TV Stand/Cabinet Question
Post by: rpfinley on January 26, 2010, 10:51:04 am
After doing a fair amount of research I have decided to create a Golden Tee Live Cabinet.  This allows me to use the 32" Sony I just bought for a third TV in my basement during football season.  Instead of the Golden Tee ball I will use a two player and trackball control panel for now with long term plans for a four player one.  Here is what it looks like:

My question is has anyone bought a TV stand that has two poles (or one pole)?  I am not even sure what to call it so it has made googling difficult.  If anyone has created a cabinet like this please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

You could pretty easily make one as long as you don't need to adjust height or tilt.  If those are needed, you will need to make it more complex.

Seems to me you could just get a pair of chain link fence posts and a metal/wood plate.  Drill 2 holes through each pole at the top and 4 into the plate.  Then, attach your TV to that plate using the appropriate VESA spacing.

If you need it adjustable, you will need to make the plate attach with a clamping mechanism rather than bolts.  If you need the TV to tilt, you will need to use a TV mount attached to the plate.
