hey.. i am setting up my mame cab and i love mala because it's so easy to use and has so many features... however I have one huge problem... the only way I can escape out of the program is by actually pressing escape on the keyboard... this is a problem because I of course want to be able to select and exit games through the arcade cab... ive been trying to figure this out all day.. it says the default for exit is player 1 and player 2 start... no dice.. i tried assigning control and player 1 start as the exit key after assigning control as the shift key.. still nothing.. i also tried using other shift keys for adding credits.. also didnt work.. none of the shift keys seem to be working. i'm using a jpac so the only thing I can think of as to why this is happening is once i'm in the game the shift button will not work?? does anyone have any ideas... also how do i assign a shift button with a jpac? when i try in the programming utility it doesn't work because it won't let me use a button thats already been assigned to something else.. any suggestions??

You can also change the "Stop" key in MAME's defaul input list.
Actually, I have a similar issue today. I uploaded a new keyset to my MiniPac, but it killed all shift keys :banghead:

i didnt see a stop key.. shouldnt that be under interface controls when i hit the tab button? i'm using the latest version of mame and all.. all i really need is to be able to exit out of a game back to the mala menu by hitting a combination of two buttons since there isnt enough buttons on my cab.. this is so simple i can't believe it's become so difficult.. the whole process involves so many more complicated things haha

tab->general input->interface input->UICancel. Put that one on another key!
