Title: Mamewah and vPinball
Post by: kq on July 24, 2003, 02:08:30 am
Has anyone tried to use Mamewah as a front end for vPinball? How does it work out? Any problems?

Haven't tried vPinball at all, sorry.  Give it a try :)

i am using vpinball with Howard's vpinball wrapper (just so it exits properly without returning you to the pinball editor) and Mamewah.  I just set it up recently so haven't played it a ton.  My take thus far is vpinball is kind of goofy as far as how some of it starts/exits and the problems you may have are due to it more so than the frontend you choose.

Yeah this is true.  My wrapper does it's best to bring the vpinball window to the front and the pinmame window on top of it, but beleive it or not, many tables try to force the developer window to the front, so every once in a while it burps.  Vpinball is a good addition to any cab, just don't expect precision launching like you do with mame.

I just can't seem to get VPinball to work with Mamewah. I've tried Howards wrapper, and what happens so far is that the screen goes black, except for the orange LED-type game display in the upper left corner (i.e. the VPinMame part of the game).

It would be really sweet if VPinball games could be launched right from Mamewah on a cabinet. If any one has gotten it to work, OR knows of any other wrappers, OR knows of any solid VPinball FEs, please let me know.
