I'm considering buying a Mini-Pac with optical control. I currently have an Arkanoid spinner that I'd like to use right now in my panel to play some Tempest, Tron and others (possibly not the best for these games, I'd like to get a Spintrack or a TT2 but I'm on a tight budget with two kids to feed... ;D ).
Could someone tell me if the Mini-Pac would work with the Arkanoid spinner ? What kind of performance should I expect with this spinner while playing Tempest or Tron ?
Thanks

I believe so. The Arkanoid spinner is a fairly standard optical spinner regarding guts. The difference is the multiple gears that give it a high degree of accuracy. That being said, the Arkanoid spinner will stink in tempest. Tron it might be ok. I have another 'free' spinning spinner for Tempest and the opposite is also true (it stinks in Arkanoid).
Tempest REALLY needs a spinner you can have free-spin a bit. Arkanoid's stops on a dime.

I was just wondering myself the difference, as I used my homebuilt spinner for Arkanoid and was annoyed that it spins so freely (seemed to be the goal from the other threads I read, so I went with that assumption).
Sounds like i need a second spinner (bummer....NOT). Guess i get to design another!

I just bought an arkanoid CP for cheap and used the one from there. :)
