Title: arcade technicians in Ottawa
Post by: npereira on July 23, 2003, 03:25:22 pm
Hello all,

I am new here and am looking for info.

I have receive a Puch-Out arcade "coin-up" as a trade and the machine was working fine at the seller's place.

We moved it accross town and plugged it in at my house. Now the machine will not power up. Is there a How-To on how to check the Power supply of this?

Also, what is this worth? Can I get 300-400$ for this? The panel where the controls are is cracked and is missing a piece. Overall condition is so-so.

Is there someone that buys theses in the Ottawa, Ontario Canada area? It won't fit down my flight of stairs so I think I will get rid of it once I get it working.

Any help would be appriciated.

I would open it up and see if anything shook loose...  It (hopefully) will be something opvious... (remember to watch out for the monitor... it can kill you... even unplugged).

As for the value.. check ebay... Its a true classic... so you will get some extra kudos for that.  But 300-400 is probably about right.  Finding a buyer without shipping hassles is usually the trouble.

Have you checked to see if one of the technician switches got turned off?   I think there's one in the back of the cab and one in the front (open the coin door and look around) you can actually see them looking from the back of your cab.

The switch looks like a little white stick and they can be pressed in, or pulled out into a locked position.  If I recall, I also believe that there's a door switch on the back of the cab, if the door is off, the game wont turn on.  Hopefully it's just something simple like that?  My centipede cab did the same thing as yours, but it was right after I took off the back door and put it back on that it wouldn't power up.  Good luck!
